Ankylosing Spondylitis
Ankylosing spondylitis is a chronic inflammatory form of arthritis that primarily affects the spine and sacroiliac joints and may cause persistent pain and stiffness.

Autoimmune Disease
An autoimmune disease develops when the immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s own cells, tissues, or organs, potentially causing chronic inflammation and tissue damage.

Biologic Medication
A biologic medication is produced using living cells or biological processes and can target specific parts of the immune or inflammatory response; some biologics are administered by IV infusion.

Bone Mineral Density
Bone mineral density describes the amount of mineral contained in bone and is commonly measured to help evaluate osteoporosis and fracture risk.

Chronic Inflammation

Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that can cause inflammation in different parts of the gastrointestinal tract.

Disease-Modifying Antirheumatic Drug (DMARD)
A DMARD is a medication used to reduce disease activity and help limit progression of certain inflammatory rheumatic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis.

DXA/DEXA Scan
A DXA or DEXA scan is a low-dose X-ray test used to measure bone mineral density and help diagnose osteoporosis or assess fracture risk.
